MerciApp is a product published and operated by J2S3, whose contact details are available in the platform’s terms and conditions of use.
MerciApp is a writing assistant that includes a spell checker. The texts you wish to correct are sent to our servers via an encrypted connection; this document indicates what data is collected.

Collection and processing of personal data
You can request the deletion of any of the data listed below at any time by contacting us using the dedicated form.
- When you submit a text for correction from one of MerciApp’s projects, it is transmitted via an encrypted connection and then stored for 6 months for statistical purposes and product improvement. After correction, all confidential data (bank account or credit card numbers, social security numbers, etc.) is anonymized.
- The data contained in this text must comply with the provisions set out in Article 12.1 of the Terms and Conditions of Use.
- Only a few members of the team are authorized to consult these texts, always within a framework formally established in advance (bug investigation, specific user request, etc.).
- When you store text in a document from the web application, this text is stored until you delete the document containing it; upon deletion, the data is immediately deleted.
- During a correction session (for example, when a new field is active on your web browser), we collect information about the nature of the alerts detected (their type, category, and nature) for statistical purposes; this data is then displayed in the “Statistics” section of the web application, allowing you to access your daily use of MerciApp.
- All our servers are hosted in France by Amazon Web Services.
- If you contact us using one of the forms, or give your opinion following a request for one of our products, the data is exchanged via an encrypted connection and stored in our databases, which are also hosted in France.
- You are required to log in to our platform to use our services; login credentials are stored in our database. You can request their deletion at any time by contacting us.
- Your IP address is collected for a maximum of a few days in order to prevent misuse of the platform; it is not then stored in our database.
- Our products use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, services provided by Google LLC, to collect usage statistics for our various products. These products use cookies, the use of which is described in this document.
- You can prevent the use of Google Analytics on our platform at any time by refusing to accept cookies or by installing this extension for your browser.
- When you register on the platform, the data in the form is stored for as long as your complex exists on our platform, for the purposes of qualification and personalization of the experience. You can request its deletion at any time, or delete your account directly from your account settings.
- You can request the deletion of this data at any time by contacting us.
Special provisions for Microsoft Outlook and Word add-ins
This is our privacy policy for users of our add-ins for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
The add-in does not collect or share any information about the user or their document. Users must have a MerciApp account in order to use the add-in; the terms and conditions of use have already been accepted when the account was created.
The text is analyzed by our correction engines according to the provisions described above in this document; any alerts detected are then displayed directly in the add-in, allowing the user to correct their document or email.
If the user sends a suggestion for improvement or reports a malfunction using the form provided for this purpose, their email address will be collected so that we can contact them if necessary. Users can send us a request at any time to delete all the information collected.
Special provisions for Google Docs
This is our privacy policy for users of our add-on for Google Docs.
The add-on does not collect or share any information about the user or their document. Users must have a MerciApp account in order to use the add-on; the terms and conditions of use have already been accepted when creating the MerciApp account.

The scopes required by this add-on and their respective uses are as follows:
- …/auth/script.container.ui: allows MerciApp to display a window on the right side of the screen so that the user can interact with the add-on. The main actions are as follows: logging into MerciApp, analyzing all or part of the document, viewing alerts, and applying suggestions made in response to alerts.
- …/auth/script.external_request: allows MerciApp to send the user’s text to its correction engines in order to identify errors in the document.
Special provisions for the browser extension (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge)
This is our privacy policy for users of our extension, which is available for several compatible browsers.
The extension does not collect or share any information about the user or their writing. The user must have a MerciApp account in order to use the add-on; the terms and conditions of use have already been accepted when creating the MerciApp account.
The text is analyzed by our correction engines in accordance with the provisions described above in this document; any alerts detected are then displayed directly in the extension, allowing the user to correct their document.
If the user submits a suggestion for improvement or reports a malfunction using the form provided for this purpose, the email address will be collected in order to contact the user again if necessary. It is possible to send us a request at any time to delete all the information collected.
The use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store’s data processing policy, with the required usage limitations.
